2. Improving the knowledge and skills of STI/HIV specialists, which will allow them to serve patients professionally and confidently, provide real and timely medical care

Training content:

◦ general information about STIs and HIV, classification, transmission routes, symptoms, risk assessment of STIs and HIV,

◦ indications for examination, rules of preparation for examination, sampling and diagnostics of STIs and HIV,

◦ peculiarities of STI and HIV spread, disease course, consequences,

◦ overview of STIs and HIV – characteristics, incubation period, diagnosis, treatment,

◦ management strategies for patients with STIs and HIV (algorithm of actions, emergency prevention, control, support),

◦ basics of counseling,

◦ universal methods of prevention of HIV infection, algorithm of actions in emergency situations.

Course objective:

1. Informational support for healthcare professionals providing family planning services on the best approach to medical care, counseling and proper use of modern contraceptive methods.
2. Improving the knowledge and skills of family planning specialists, which will enable them to professionally and confidently serve patients with different needs and recommend modern contraceptive methods, taking into account various aspects of a person’s life.

Course content:

◦ basics of family planning counseling and contraceptive method selection,

◦ peculiarities of women’s lifestyles, stress during the war, challenges for physiology,

◦ methods of contraception, WHO medical acceptance criteria, including emergency contraception,

◦  methods of contraception according to the periods of life, in particular, adolescent contraception, contraception in the postpartum period, after abortion, and during the period of end of desired fertility,

◦ men’s participation in family planning.

◦  emergency gynecology (bleeding, acute abdomen and infectious complications, modern methods of termination of unwanted pregnancy),
◦  emergency obstetrics (bleeding, including bleeding in the second half of pregnancy, during and after childbirth),
◦  organization of obstetric and gynecological care (modern principles of antenatal and postpartum monitoring, principles of gynecological care).
